The “one way” signs that you see on the road may seem like just words on a sign. But they can be a reminder not just to turn the right way, but that Jesus is the ultimate right way, and the only way in fact to get to heaven.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” -John 14:6
What’s the purpose of a ‘one way’ sign? To point people in the correct direction. If drivers fail to obey the sign, they could drive the wrong way for a little while, but they would eventually end up hurting themselves and others.
It’s the same with Jesus. He tells us in John 14:6 that He is the one and only way to get to the Father in Heaven. Jesus is the bridge across our ditch of sin. He connects us to God, God to us. Any other bridge that may look stable (being good enough, going to church but not having a relationship with Jesus, calling yourself a “Christian” just because your parents are), will lead to forever death in the end.
“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14
According to the verse above, the One Way Sign To Heaven can be difficult to find. It’s narrow, and difficult. But Jesus is with us every step of the way. He is truly the one and only way to heaven.
