Time (uh-oh)

Monday rolled around so quickly, and I definitely was not prepared to post. So I was wondering what I should post on, and God gave me an awesome idea. I obviously didn’t make time to write a post, so I should probably write my post on using time wisely. So here we go, a post all about time.

His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭21‬ NIV)

You may think this verse has nothing to do with time, but I’m thinking otherwise. Time is something we normally don’t think about. Although it’s always present, and constantly makes us say: “where did the time go that I was going to study that History test?!” or “I completely forgot to make time to sit down and write a post!”.

As the verse above states, if we are faithful in little things (like time), God can entrust us with bigger things (writing a bible study, witnessing to a neighbor, you name it). So why doesn’t God give us more time to do things like school or blogging? I’ve got big news. GOD made time. (Yeah I know your brain just exploded, but stay with me here). GOD knows all about time, and He has marked your days; He planned the day you would be born and He knows the day you will join Him in heaven. He created time.

God has blessed you with plenty of time to get done what needs to be done. It’s not His fault that that report didn’t get turned in on time or the blog post wasn’t ready. It’s ours. So you’ve been given time; it’s been entrusted to you. How will you use it? (don’t think I’m only talking to you here, I’m convicting myself!!) Will you waste it on video games, TV, social media*, and other time-consuming things? Or will you use it purposefully?

*please understand that none of these things are wrong, but they can become wrong if they take the place of God, family or friends in our lives. Use these things wisely. If you do play video games play them with your family or friends and create fun memories. If you text or do Instagram, be careful how much time you spend on it. Time is a precious thing-don’t waste it!!

Thanks for taking the time to write that! I never thought of that verse that way, but I think you’re right!
The weekend flew by for me too! But that’s okay, it means I was enjoying myself. (I was painting and sewing pillowcases and cooking Mother’s Day dinner with my dad.) Thank you for your time Riley!
